One context layer for work.
Work lives across conversations, tasks, documents, code, decisions and dozens of tools. IL Co keeps the context behind each piece of work attached to it, so the work can move without losing the why. Today that starts with a handoff layer for Slack, Linear and GitHub, and the workspace built around it.
Handoffs
When work changes hands, the why goes with it.
The clearest place context gets lost is a handoff, so that's where IL Co starts — today with Slack, Linear and GitHub.
- Connections
- Connected today: Slack, Linear and GitHub. What IL Co reads and writes is stated before you connect. The GitHub App is read-only.
- Triggers
- A handoff starts when a Linear issue moves into a status your workspace chose, when someone types /handoff in Slack, or at the end of the day for people who opt in.
- Handoff packets
- What was done, why, key decisions, current state, what works and what doesn’t, open questions and next steps — each claim citing its sources, with a suggested owner and the reason for it.
- Review
- The draft is visible only to its author. They reword or remove claims, then approve and publish — or reject it.
- Inbox
- The new owner accepts the handoff, asks questions on it, or it is reassigned — each step kept in the handoff’s history.
The workspace
One place for the work and what explains it.
Native IL Co objects, connected to each other — and to the Slack, Linear and GitHub objects they came from, which always stay marked as external.
- Home
- Handoffs waiting for your review or your acceptance, and what changed recently.
- Work
- Work items with a status, priority, assignee, due date and project — linked to handoffs, knowledge and the Linear, GitHub or Slack objects they match.
- Projects
- An outcome, and the work, people, conversations and handoffs that serve it.
- Conversations
- Messages, threads and @mentions about a work item or a project, linked to the handoffs and Slack threads they continue.
- Knowledge
- Documents, notes and recorded decisions, connected to each other and to the work and projects they belong to.
- Search
- One search across handoffs and the whole workspace, including linked Slack, Linear and GitHub objects — with sources shown.
Context
What stays attached to the work.
Not just messages from one tool — everything that explains a piece of work, kept with it as it moves.

Boundaries
What IL Co is not.
- Not a replacement for the tools your team uses. They stay the systems of record; IL Co keeps the context between them.
- Not connected to every tool yet. Today IL Co connects to Slack, Linear and GitHub; the other tools your team uses are not integrations yet.
- Not a chatbot. There is no chat window to prompt — there is work, and the context behind it.
- Not an autonomous agent. Nothing is posted to your tools until a person approves it.
Keep work moving without losing context.
IL Co is in private beta with a small number of engineering teams.
